Editing Christy's Comments

Copying an existing article is the easiest way to create a new Christy's Comments and keep the current settings.

 

To create a new article to edit:

  1. From the Article Manager, select Christy's Comments from the Select Section drop-down menu.
    The list should shorten to show only Christy's Comments; if you wish to shorten the list more, select a Category from the drop-down menu to the right of the Section list.
  2. Click the square to the left of an existing article and then click the Copy button at the top of the screen.
  3. From the Section/Category list, select Christy's Comments / YYYY Christy's Comments (where YYYY is the current year).
  4. Click the Save button.
    The copy of the article appears at the top of the list with the same name as the one copied.

To edit the article:

  1. Click on the name of the copied article to open the edit window.
  2. Change the Title to the one for this article.
  3. Change the alias to the date for your own reference.
  4. Make sure Yes is checked for the Published setting and if you want this article on the Front Page, click in front of Yes; otherwise, leave it as No.
  5. If you are writing the article ahead of time and do not want it published immediately, change the date in the Start Publishing field on the right side of the screen.
  6. At the top of the editing window, type the first sentence/paragraph - whatever you want to appear as the introduction on the home page and in the category blog list.
  7. Continue to compose the rest of your article below the red line.
    NOTE: if there is not a red-dotted line, click in the text where you want the break and scroll down to below the editing window and click the Read more... button.
  8. When you have completed the article, click the Save button at the top of the screen.

To publish the article and post it to the front page:

  1. From the list of articles in Christy's Comments, locate the previous article, and click the check in the Front Page column to turn the check to a red circle with a white x and remove that article from the home page.
  2. From the Content menu, select Front Page Manager.
  3. Reorder the articles but putting a 1 in the order column for Welcome to First Krum UMC and a 2 in the new Christy's Comments.
  4. Click the disk (save icon) at the top of the Order column.
  5. Check the home page (if you did not change the Start Publishing date) to make sure that your new article appears in the second position in the center.
